Court chooses law clerks for 2027-2028 term

The North Dakota Supreme Court is pleased to announce the following individuals who have been selected to serve a one-year clerkship with the North Dakota Supreme Court for the 2027-2028 term beginning August 1, 2027.

Ross Baumgardner, of Bismarck, North Dakota, earned a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Concordia College and a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Minnesota State University Moorhead. Mr. Baumgardner is expected to receive his Juris Doctor from the University of North Dakota School of Law and a Master of Public Health from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine & Health Sciences in May 2027.

Kristi Carpenter, of Moffit, North Dakota, earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from the University of Jamestown. Ms. Carpenter is expected to receive her Juris Doctor from the University of North Dakota School of Law in May 2027.

Lorraine Coronato, of Sidney, Montana, earned a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Black Hills State University. Ms. Coronato is expected to receive her Juris Doctor from the University of North Dakota School of Law in May 2027.

James Nicolai, of Ellendale and Fargo, North Dakota, earned a Bachelor of Arts from North Dakota State University in 1986. Mr. Nicolai later attended the University of North Dakota School of Law, graduating in 1990. He is a member of the State Bar Association of North Dakota.

Faith Scheuer, of Bismarck, North Dakota, earned a Bachelor of Science in History and a Master of Public Policy from North Dakota State University. Ms. Scheuer is expected to receive her Juris Doctor from the University of North Dakota School of Law in May 2027.
