Six Recipients Awarded Perkins V Innovation Grants

The North Dakota Department of Career and Technical Education has awarded $286,330.48 to six recipients through the 2026–27 Perkins V Innovation Grant program. The funding supports innovative projects that expand student access to career and technical education and strengthen preparation for high-skill, high-wage, or in-demand careers.

The recipients and approved projects are:

  • Bismarck State College: $50,000 for Plumbing Workforce Training.
  • Central Regional Area CTC: $50,000 for Firefighter Program Equipment and Rural Access.
  • Lake Region State College: $39,440 for Automotive CAN Bus Training.
  • East Rolette County Consortium: $50,000 for Agricultural Innovation, Engineering, Manufacturing and Entrepreneurship.
  • Roughrider Area CTC: $46,890.48 for Rural Bovine Health and Reproduction Simulation.
  • Turtle Mountain Area CTC: $50,000 for Drone Technology and Unmanned Aircraft Systems.

Applications were evaluated based on project description, anticipated impact, and budget, including alignment with workforce needs and opportunities for special populations and underserved students.

The grant program uses federal Perkins V funds to expand access, improve program quality, and support innovation in career and technical education. Recipients must provide at least one dollar in approved matching support for every five dollars in grant funding.
